Seems straightforward. I'll get a clamp and give it a go, thank you for taking the time to film this.

The cheapest pads are $50 dollars. The most expensive one is $100 dollars. The shop will charge me over $500 dollars to put on a pair of front brake pads for my 9 years old Sportage. Now I am considering doing it myself. Thanks for the video.

Nice job! I wish I had you here in New Hampshire. Mechanics over charging $1200 for Rotors and brake pads. $266 per hour thieves taking advantage of terminal ill given a year to live. Horrible . I researched the cost of parts calculating labor time to do the job. I had new rotors and pads put on a year ago. I could understand new brake pads but not charging me for new rotors and how am I to know they are putting new rotors on my Kia Sportage. I appreciate sharing your video concludes I’ve been quoted too high of a price.

Be prepared for the unexpected!!

Wheels frozen to the hubs/rotors (can also be a nasty surprise if you have a flat tyre). Over torqued wheel bolts. Rotor retaining screw heads stuck/mashed up by previous mechanics. Stuck rotors onto the wheel hubs. Over torqued caliper and pad bolts 🔩. Overspill of brake fluid when you squeeze open the calipers. Snapped disc pad springs. Every single one of these issues I encountered! Make sure you have the appropriate tools and brake accessories to get through the pain should you encounter these problems.

THIS IS HOW NOT TO INSTALL PADS.
NO GREASE ON SHIMS TO PREVENT SQUEAL AND NO CLEANING/PREP ON BRAKE PAD CARRIER BEFORE INSTALLING NEW SHIMS.
DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUYS STEPS!!!
