Nothing gives you that satisfying, stick to your ribs heartiness like country style sausage gravy. It's great on biscuits, eggs, toast, grass clippings, you name it! And it's so easy to make.
1lb - Breakfast sausage
1/3C - White AP flour
2 1/2 - 3C - Half n' Half / Milk mixture (my preference)
Salt and Pepper to taste

Brown the sausage, stir in the flour until the sausage becomes pasty like a roux and then slowly add your milk. Stir on medium - high heat until it bubbles and becomes thick and that flour taste begins to cook out.

Serve and enjoy!

This looks like the white gravy I want. It’s actually white. Whereas all the others turn out this weird tanish color. I’m gonna try this today

😋 but I always remove the cooked sausage on a plate with a napkin then add the flour to the sausage grease in the pan and cook that flour until it’s golden brown then add the milk stirring constantly and add back the sausage cook it til done ✅

Need to brown the flour to get a nutty flavor and not a raw flour taste. Using 2% milk thins out the half and half to just a bit heavier than whole milk. You might as well just add whole milk.

The secret to amazing gravy, is a bit of real creme and a premium sausage. And by premium, I don't mean expensive name brand shit, I mean some local butcher shop, high fat, well seasoned, breakfast sausage. No amount of salt and pepper is going to save a low quality sausage.

You just put a hit on yourself from everyone from Yorkshire with this video, gravy is meant to be brown not white 😭. Also it's meant to go with fish and chips, full English, fried Chiken or a roast dinner not whatever that "buiscut" cough scone was.

I fed the whole dam-fam of 5 this morning for $4. Jimmy Dean hot sausage was on sale 1.99. Homestyle buttermilk buscuits were about 1.99 also.

You have to use bacon grease to fry the sausage in, about 4-6 slices worth. You’ll thank me later
