How come when the Chinese go to Africa we don’t hear them losing land and being finessed?

As a black american, this is one of the biggest issues I have with investing in africa. I have been traveling in and out of Ethiopia for several years. One con game I observed was the selling of a home to a foreigner with official paperwork for ownership. Only to find out that they have also sold the same house to other parties. I knew one white guy who had purchased a house for him and his Ethiopian woman. He left to go home to america for three weeks, when he returned he found out his woman had sold his house, pocket the money and left. A lot of corruption goes on in africa, be careful.

Lessons learned if you lease the land you don't have ownership rights. This action is a turn off for African Americans who take huge risk in trying to move to Ghana. I am especially mad about the theft of his personal property it's a shame.

When buying land from Ghana, be sure to buy from the government agency, registered real estate agencies and from chiefs of the town or location you want to buy from. Most lands are owned by families. If you’re buying from a family, make sure you go with an attorney and also make sure all the family’s members are aware of the purchase.

I have a friend who was murdered three years ago in Ghana for her land and new home she had just finished building. Now her boyfriend and his wife live in her home and have taken over her business. She didn't have any children, and her family was not willing to try and fight in a Ghanaian corrupt legal system because none of them were interested in moving to Ghana and tried to discourage her from moving there. I have always said Americans should not buy land in corrupt countries, especially when you can only "lease" land.

This really hurts my heart as a African American living in the US. For sometime I have dreamed and been making plans to relocate back to African mainly Ghana but now I have to reconsider everything I planned for. It make me feel we as African descendants living in America have nowhere to go, we are tired of the mess in America and now to see my brothers and sisters treated like this, it's nothing but greed, corruption, wickedness and black on black racism.

I live in US and have 30 year loan on my house and if I don't pay my mortgage, the bank will take possession or pay the taxes the city/county will impose lien and eventually lose the property. When I hear some of these you tubers speaking very negatively about the demolition and not finding out the facts before putting out your video that's very irresponsible reporting.

If it's an LGBTQ resort or used for such purpose then it's obvious no African country will go soft on anything as nasty and abominable of which Ghana is no exception. It may be ok to do that in The West but Africa has it values and norms

We're just hated and abused by EVERYBODY, and EVERYWHERE. We can't even go home without tribulation. 😭

This is heartbreaking 💔…. Unfortunately Not all skin folk are kin folk people …..Kenyan 🇰🇪 American 🇺🇸 here . Mom was born & raised in Kenya 🇰🇪 Dad is Mzungu .

As a child every time I would visit, my cousins would steal something out of my carry-on bag, and my mom would not allow me to go to the market with her even though I’m dark skin bi racial . She said it’s obvious I’m American & they’ll overcharge us .

Now that I’m older I understand why. My cousins saw me as American, and assumed Im made of money and have unlimited access to it

What’s really heartbreaking is how quickly most of us will point the finger at the colonizer, but we never look in the mirror at ourselves. I understand our fellow brothers and sisters in Africa look down on us, but that that does not give them the right to steal from us/do us dirty when we move to their country

This looks like this is a well calculated act. More investigations are indeed needed and a reaction from the Ghanian government as well because this is a serious matter.

This video does not report the reason why the building was demolished. Does it have to do with the unwanted presence of the LBGTQ resort in Ghana? Does this demolition have the backing of the highest authorities in Ghana? If the purpose of this building is to foster LGBTQ activities in Ghana, then those who instigated this should explain. The president of Ghana has made it clear that LBGTQ will not be tolerated in Ghana. African Americans who are invited to Ghana should abide by those rules and respect Ghanaian culture. This will make it difficult for many of us who want to return. Whites will certainly like this to happen. African Americans should realize how they are often used to advance the cause of others to their own detriment.

Dont let this video discourage you, there are abundant opportunities in Africa.
Go to safe African countries and one with less corruption, you will make it...

Mr. GoBlack, you are 100% right. When I was growing up, I personally know a higher ranking Lands Dept official that used to change ownerships of Lands and sold them to different people. Also, according to my older siblings, it happened to my dad. He bought lands and the lands were sold to someone else. It ruined my father's forever. I can go on and with different Land and building issues that I personally know that were unjustly taking away from owners.

Something similar happened in Tanzania. The landowner sold the land to a Diasporan, knowing that the government had earmarked it for development. When the government contractors arrived to start work, they tore down the bar/restaurant she had built, while her business partner and staff stole all her furniture and appliances.

So sad to hear as an African I’m so ashamed and I hope the government will make it right because this is bad news and bad reputation for Africa the land of all Africans. I really hope that the government in Ghana did already something to these victims
