Fun-Fact: Izanami exists because of Nyx from P3

According to p. 174 of the the P3 Club Book/ペルソナ倶楽部P3 and p. 30-31 of [P3]x[P4] World Analyze, mythological Gods and Demons based on the "Great Mother" Archetype, such as the Night Queen/Nyx/Queen Asura from P1, as well as Izanami were subconsciously based on the truth that the Nyx from P3 is the mother of humanity. Of course, mythological gods and demons in-general exist because of Nyx.
Because of her impact with Earth long ago, which formed the Moon, humans exist and have an ego (the suppressed Shadows being scattered parts of Nyx' psyche).

Similarly to Nyx and her children, Izanami is also a mother goddess who is associated with the underworld, the Shintō equivalent "Yomi", as well as being associated with the gap between Yomi and the land of the living, Yomotsu Hirasaka (which is also the final dungeon of this game).

Mr. Edogawa in P4G also supports this by saying
"I told you earlier that Jung found the collective unconscious by finding a 'pattern' in myths and old tales, right? That pattern itself is the classic example of an archetype. For example, in most ancient religions, there is a 'mother goddess' that is worshipped. There have have even been statues and pictures of mother goddesses found in ancient ruins. Man has felt this “motherly” image since ancient times; it is an archetype that has been created in our minds. Now then, about that image of the “mother”… What function does this hold as the 'foundation of the mind's power to recognize patterns'? Try this out: think of the concept of a 'mother'. Inside your mind… You think of the power to give birth, the power to love, to hold someone dearly, right? This archetype that creates this motherly image is known as the 'Great Mother'."

Orpheus and Izanagi also have similarities with their stories: Both of them go to the underworld to rescue their wives. However, both look back at their lovers, and leave without them. As both broke their respective conditions to NOT look at them before leaving. Orpheus eventually reunites with his wife, Eurydice in the underworld, while Izanagi was separated from Izanami forever.
