I’ve bought 5 sets of Nokian snow tires, started using them 8 years ago. Good snow tires. Just put a set of R5 on a Subaru Outback and LT3 studded on a Jeep. No complaints at all.

I have the Nokian R2's on a 2018 Forester and once they wear out I'm getting Nokians again for sure. I love those tires.

Thanks for the great video!

Got the R5 SUV on my 22 Outback Wilderness and regular R5 on my Mini Cooper SE. It's a beast of a tire. I haven't felt ABS even once this winter. Super quiet, comfortable and confidence inspiring.

Wow great job testing these tires on the crosstrek. It looked like you were having a lot of fun. I've never seen people send it on the snow like this before.

I have been using R3's for the past two winters and they are amazing. Best thing I've purchased for the Alberta winters. When it's time to buy new ones I'm going right back to Nokian, they've won me over lol

I just rolled out of the shop with my new R5s. The noise level is severely reduced and the ride is so smooth compared to my previous Gislaved Frosts I had for 7 seasons. Great review.

Watching this car flying through an unplowed field is fantastic.

I have on my 2020 2.0T Accord and RDX a spec and love them as I feel confident living in northern Ontario Canada, but though they are studable, I don't feel I need it. We have version for our daughter's little car and got studs installed for our peace of mind. We've been using Nokian Rotiiva AT on both Ridgeline 2009 and 2017 and very happy. We've used on both 2012 and 2016 civic, minivans, etc and very happy over 15 years.

Over all my years of owning cars, I had the Hakka 5, Hakka 7, Nordman 7 (Studded) and currently have the Hakka 9 (Studded) on my Tucson and Hakka 10 (Studded) on my Crosstrek.

I don't care if Nokian is more expensive. In my experience, they also last for a long time and the grip don't run out when they wear out compared to others.

I've tested others over the years. I sold them and bought Nokian to replace them.

Thanks for the video. I liked how you showed how well it cuts through and grips on deep snow. IMO this is one of the most impressive aspects of winter tires.

I remember running some Nokians years ago in a tiny low 2 door Ford Escort, and was able to pull myself through 10 inches of powdered snow, no problem. I was literally plowing snow the entire time lol. On the flip side, cheap all seasons on my 07 AWD WRX, I got stuck in 6 inches of snow one time, and another time, spun out on some ice last year braking down a hill lol. Luckily no traffic and didn't hit anything.

Upgrading to some Nordman's this week...really looking forward to trying them out 😁

Purchased a set for my X3 last fall. Drive an average of 1500km a week. Very very impressive tire in winter conditions, I’m pretty sure that they have more grip than any winter tire I have used in regular roads covered in ice and snow. We always have three vehicles and that’s meant a lot of different snow tires from different manufacturers over the past 25 years. I agree about deep deep snow, one needs a more aggressive tire but you won’t get stuck with these anyhow. One area they are disappointing is in wet driving i.e rainy conditions. With winters fluctuating temperatures I did drive on wet roads on at least half a dozen days. While aquaplaning resistance seems good in city driving, that resistance disappears at highway speeds . In the wet over rain soaked roads at speeds over 100km/h I found driving in these tires iffy but became downright scary in sudden emergency braking. I wasn’t sure it was the tires at first . I had the BMW dealership check all the brakes and do an alignment and then had my independent mechanic do a brake service . Nope these tires need some caution in rainy weather (the temps were usually around 3 to 5 C). My experience is borne out in at least one European road test that shows these tires score poorly in that area. Still I highly recommend them over other brands.

Best snow tires I've ever ran -- I drive 200+ miles a day in snow...almost every day. On my third *car* and I always always always go Nokian for every set of tires.

Trying the R5 SUV for my Avalanche. Last time I bought winter tires for this truck was 11 years ago, which as Good Year. Cant complain since they lasted me 11 seasons, but the reviews for these just seem to blow everything else out of the water. Dont tow like I used to so dont need 10 ply like my old winters are. Who here has these on a truck?

I daily drove Nokian R3 for 3 years in Chicago winters on a bmw z4 rwd. Best performance in the winter.

I've had the No, ian Hakkapeliitta 9 studded and they are just impressive. I need to replace them and I am undecided between the new Hakkapeliitta 10 studded or the R5... The only reason I would go with the R5 is because the studs are hard on my asphalted driveway and some interior parkings don't allow studded tires...

This looks very similar to the Continental VikingContact 7 tires. I've used them on FWD and AWD cars and they are amazing.

thanks you for your super interesting videos. I decided to order my 2024 wilderness watching then. So, I received the car his July already drove 8234km and I can say that I love every inches of this wagon. … ohh. ‘SUV’. Tires…. I live in eastern Canada and I would need real winter tire for my new SOW. Always used Nokian Haka 10 studded tires with my preview SUV and pickups truck. I seen your review on the Haka…. 5 on a crosstrek. But What would you suggest for the wilderness?
