Simulation training in mental health care

The Simulation Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) recently piloted courses that are specially designed to provide health care professionals, trainees and medical residents the opportunity to learn new integrated approaches in mental and physical care for patients with complex needs. CAMH’s Simulation Centre, which is supported by the Medical Psychiatry Alliance, provides a safe learning environment for students, trainees, and health professionals to explore their clinical practice and test new approaches to better-integrated care. It also depends on what the patient is suffering. To be honest...mental health shouldn’t be treated in a hospital, especially a psychiatric ward. People with mental health or people who are suicidal aren’t crazy. You just need to comfort them and talk to them calmly.

there really needs to be a few strong orderlies there to hold her rather then go through a useless and dangerous yelling match. then tell her if she calms down and talks to the nurses like a civilized person they will let go.
