Just an update, I've been using the 6P for over 3 years now, still no problems with burn in with the screen always on about 50% brightness.

the thing i like the most about AMOLED screens is the blacks are well blacks its not a weird dark gray because of the back-light. dark scene movies are much better.

Newer LCD displays are now much better than earlier. I have the Redmi Note 8 Pro and even it has LCD it has awesome colours. If I turn the brightness to minimum, the blacks are almost physical as AMOLED.

Thank you Jarrod'sTech, very informative and simple to understand video. Unlike other videos out there, you clearly state the differences in Layman's term.

I actually see viewing angles a con than a pro. Phones are supposedly private and you dont know want strangers looking over your shoulders

Jarrod, i noticed ips lcd have more accurate colors than super amoled.
While taking photos ips lcd have similar colors to what we see to compare to oled. As oled looks yellowish and while using flash oled doesn't capture it nicely.

The phones are vivo v15 and vivo s1 pro.
Eventhough s1 pro have better camera.
Why is that?

LCD-true colors and display. I like capturing what it really looks like. if deep blacks are your major argument, that's lame. Amoled-over saturation and more burn in chances. LCD burn in can be fixed easier than Amoled too...LG G6 for me

I love my OnePlus 3T with amoled display. Since I use my phone a lot at night in the dark, it is friendlier for the eyes

I prefer LCD than amoled
Because LCD have realistic colours.Unlike amoled, Lcd did not make me sleepy while using phone

Some displays can't turn the pixels back on fast enough, so you get this weird smear of black when there is motion. Some apps allow you to disable "true" blacks and make the pixels very dark instead.

I just picked up a Galaxy S8 and I loved the amoled screen and incredible resolution of the phone. I could look at the phone all day

TEAM LCD!! Before i comment I want to say” we are blessed to even have a phone in life.”🙂 The only Amoled and Oled i can tolerate is in a affordable cheap budget smartphone not in a T.V.! I want to watch natural real T.V. not fake saturated colors! LCD looks so beautiful and naturally realistic!!😍 The Amoled looks so dark, dead, and dull! Colors always look all pinkish and stuff, or a blue tint! Ugh Ugly Amoled! But we all have to admit though; we are bless to have a phone🙂
