I liked this version over Power Edition. The Hard car handled much better in this version IMO. The Easy car was also so fast it seemed broken (everybody I knew drove it without powersliding).

Daytona conveys the best sense of speed in any racer. The way the car rattles. Why cant modern games do this???

So many memories I had of this one.

Played for 3 years, during 10 days each year (It was on a Arcade Saloon in the Holiday region I always gone as vacations when I was a teenager).

First year was for learning, second year I beat the Speed Record on Beginner Track, and in the Third Finish 1st beating the Speed Record again and Track Record on Beginner Track. So if she wasn't reset, there are a Arcade machine in Portugal that still have the memories of my summer days (The Arcade Saloon closed like 2 years after the last time I've been there)...

This game was really exciting to play. It if had the same traditional layout as the first game then it wouldn’t have been so successful. I played this in a bar at Coogee bay in Sydney, getting drunk and playing arcade games, damn epic times.

Man I love this version. The Forest Dome is so much cooler than Power Editions plain old open track. I really wish they would port this to something. I’m terrible at PC stuffs so setting up an emulator is tough for me to accomplish.

Also if I ever was to become a Millionaire, I’d totally build a go-Kart replica of the Forest Dome to race on.
