Tree falling in the woods

I heard this tree popping from the house and went to investigate, just in time.

Honestly this sound must be horrifying to hear if you're in the woods. Imagine just casually walking on a path and you hear creaking besides you. . . basically run for your life and hope the tree doesn't end up falling your direction.

NJ stopped taking care of dead trees in most state parks, so I’ve been hearing this sound too often, kayaking on the canal near me. Had a close call with a big one almost hitting me a few weeks ago. Terrifying when you hear that noise.

I saw something like that just recently in a forest in Sheffield, U.K. I've only seen the aftermath but it did knocked down a number of trees. Beeley Woods as I know. Snapped off about 7 or 10 feet above the stump.

There's something oddly beautiful about this clip that I can't explain through talking but with words.

It feels like the end of a piece of the earth with this tree falling down. It's done it's job and now it's time for it to end. Nature at its absolute finest.
