Photoshop for iPad hands-on: an exclusive look

Adobe’s finally bringing Photoshop to the iPad in 2019, and it’s introducing a new cloud PSD file format that’ll let you work on the same file across multiple devices with Creative Cloud. We got to test an early version of the app and our art department had a lot to say about it.

Because this was such an early version of the app, the selection tool didn’t offer the level of control I needed (no tolerance setting yet), which is why I opted to use the erase tool! -Dami

It really feels like a bit of an oversight that nobody mentioned Affinity Photo/Designer for iPad in this video, which is the app Adobe is both trying to copy and beat here. I reccommend checking it out if you want to work with PSDs on iPad pro in a full featured image editor. It's only 30$ as a one time purchase as well.

Other than creative cloud, based on the beta features of PsCC for iPad, it seems Serif has Adobe beat with Affinity Photo by quite a bit. Strangely omitted in the similar apps segment.

I haven't used Photoshop or any Adobe app for a long time now. FCPX and Affinity Photo are taking over and they are way better.
