Suzuki Swift 1.0 Boosterjet 2017 (ENG) - Test Drive and Review

Показать описание
2017 Suzuki Swift is available with two engines choices, each in two variants. There are also three types of gearboxes. Swift can have a 4-cylinder normally aspirated 1.2 DualJet engine, or a 1 litre 3-cylinder Boosterjet. Both can be had with SHVS, which is Suzuki-speak for a mild hybrid. The mild hybrid makes the car more expensive, so does Boosterjet. So does AWD. DualJet gets a 5-speed manual or a CVT, Boosterjet gets a 5 speed manual, or a 6-speed automatic. This test Suzuki Swift is a 1.0 Boosterjet with an automatic shifter..

One of the best cars I've ever driven.

I was about to buy a car when a saw this vid 6 months ago. I was naturally beetween the yaris and the swift. 6 months now, my swift gives me a smile everytime the engine lights up. Great fuel economy, really good gimmicks in the cabin and a decent punch when you want to floor it, especially while already rolling . Great car

I've driven the 5th generation and thought it drove very well and in the UK at least this new version is very good value.

I was waiting for the review for long time.
Just got mine (exactly like the one you test but with the 6-speed automatic) and your comments on positive and negative aspects of the car are absolutely spot on. Especially I appreciate your comments on the phone/mirrorlink/charging interaction as well as the utterly stupid and sensitive break-assist radar. My city is full of small narrow streets and the radar even activates when pedestrians walk on the narrow sidewalks. I deactivate it always when i start the car unfortunately.
The arm-rest I had it fitted as a gift from the dealer but less than 2 weeks and (as expected) starterd to make the noises....

Although you seem restrained in yout praise for the swift, your statement that it has personality shows that you like it a lot.😀 and rightly so.

Very nice video. Everything you said is right. Iam from Greece and i bought the manual version for 14.000. Kilometers: 13.000, consumption: 6.0 lt/100klm! Great fuel economy and really fast, easy and nice to drive. The visability front up could be much better so that you wouldn't have to lean forward to see the traffic light and also it would be nice if the suspension wouldn't be so noisy when you run over potholes (both also mentioned on your video). A really value for money car, much better than any other car at the same price!

Fuel economy is then on par with the previous model. My 2016 model Suzuki Swift 1.2Litre has the same fuel economy as the 1Litre BoosterJet 1Litre.

it's irritating that your swift has heated seats but the one here in new zealand does not, you also have a more advanced display between the speed and rpm dials and a stop light at the back on the bottom.

Most expensive Swift in Croatia costs 17.600 euros, 1.0 AT GLX ACC. 4x4 is offered only with 1.2 and costs a bit less same as 1.0 hybrid without AT..Swift with 1.0 starts round 14500, cheapest one with 1.2 round 12000.. Suzuki has even cheaper prices in Serbia and few countries around.. This model look really didnt impress me at all. I didnt even wanted to sit in it but i would love to drive that 1.0 in the city..That engine powers much bigger SCross with no problems with performance and it super light Swift it must be lively and fun to drive..I hope Sport version is on the way this time with tweaked 1.4 under the hood but i dont know..

Nice car, but the Swift from the sixth generation (2010) has a better back and looks more sporty. Btw a fuel consumption of 5.7-5.9 liter and the speed 130 km/h, sounds very impressive for this car with a 1.0 litre engine. Nice review Marek

The boosterjet starts at the price of 13400 Euros in my country. Are the climate control and cruise control optional in the boostejet or are they standard equipment? Great review covered everything i wanted to know as i am an owner of a swift (2010) model. The only bad thing in my car is that when u try to overtake someone in the highway you need time if you are on low rpms but it seems that they kinda fixed that prob with the 3-cyl turbocharged engine

You need to drive the manual gearbox.. The car is same as the older sport. Bloody quick. It should be called suzuki bullet

How doues it's fuel consumption compers to same generation 90hp swift and new 82hp 12v hybrid. How much fuel consumption does the the automatic transmition means by each model? Thank you in advance.

It's €20, 995 here in Ireland for the same spec model. We do have higher taxes on new cars though. The Swift was actually something I was considering, although I may wait to see the Swift Sport which is (apparently) due next year.

In comparison, a similar Mazda2 (1.5L 90ps Petrol Auto) clocks in at €19, 855. I think Suzuki may have missed the mark on the pricing. Really, I think the swift should be at least 10% lower in price.

Marek some advice needed: between a seat Ibiza 1.0 95cv and this swift 1.0 boosterjet which car would you chose? I’m seriously considering buying my next car from these two

Trying to decide between the Swift and the equivalent spec polo as a second car (city commuter, 2 small kids). Which one would you pick?
