Plugging every one of the perforations in the boxes could prevent the positive crankcase code. They not only introduce hot air and contamination but the ECU trying to compensate. Plugging them may improve your time. Love your videos. GET USE TO

Appreciate this video. I went with just K&N filters and always wondered if I should've went BB instead.
😃👍

So in other words, better getting the TCU update vs BB intake.
Awesome video, thank you for the attention to all the details !

Blackboost has an harness for the intake Sensors thst come with the intakes. With those you have Zero Code issues.

I have two m157 cars, 218 and 222 both have the blackboost intakes, thermostat, ecu and tcu tuning, I have had experience before with weistec (catastrophy), AMS and locally tuned in Germany, none has beaten Blackboost in overall Performance and driveability.

The owner of Blackboost is a great lad that cares for the Quality of his products and customers far more than only profit Driven is my personal impression, especially compared to some other US based companies. I personally would always choose to use blackboost again.

Just my 2 cents :-)

To answer your question about the intake pipes (fabric pipes) spool makes a silicone replacement

Welcome back. Super helpful video once again. Thank you 🙏🏻 Video ideas 💡 🤔...
- Integrated Radar Detector installation
- Rare view mirror mounting & power tap for standard Radar Detectors. Uniden R7 for example 😆
Either one or both 😆

To get rid of the codes all you do is add some rtv to the sensors where you placed them in the intake tubes. It’s picking up the slightest of air leaks.

You also need to give the ecu time to adapt. And you can also tell your tuner you have bb intakes to add into the tune. Guys who have done so are averaging .4-.5 of a second 60-130. I also picked up 3 mph in my trap speed both in the 1/8 & 1/4 just from the intakes.

Good video! 👍🏽

Usually when you put in a cold air intake in a car it’s supposed to be tuned. You can’t just slap on a cold air intake because then if you do then it will show codes of to much air sucking in the engine and it doesn’t match the air, to fuel to spark ratio. If you properly tune the cold air intake to the car you would actually see better performance

I've been looking for an install vid for a minute. I have a similar setup that I put together. It just didn't cost $1500😅. I always wanted to know where they ran those wires. I'm happy my placement is similar to what they did. Thanks Bro.💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

I want to point out a few things to consider in response to results.

Mercedes neuters power via the tcu. The further you go out on the shifts the less and less it intervenes.

First gear is limited to like 480lbft load at the engine
Second gear is 550lbft
3-7 is 660lb. An ecu tune doesnt eliminate those limits. Hence why your times and traps are relatively unchanged before the 1/8th mile.

The blackboost intakes gained 3mph trap on the backend in your 1/4mph tuned dragy. Thats actually quite a bit for just intakes. Also the .57s reduction in 60-130 times says it all for me.

So much so I’m considering them for my gle. And i much rather like the look of the stock intakes over the bb.

Weird, I've had mine on for over a year now, scanning the car with my autul scanner only shows the intercooler pump rewire code, nothing about the bb intakes

I love the specter pipes first thing I did to my 15 cls63. Well worth it for 200ish. Thanks for your hard work me personally I’m very grateful

I know the owner of blackboost. I can see if he can get you new plates if you want them. He lives about an hour from me

But as far as the performance.. yours and mine are spot on in times with my dragy. We are part for part but I do have a rear muffler delete. The bottom end doesn’t bother me but the top end pulls like crazy. We are going into boost weather so I’m going to re-time the car and see how it works. That’s all with 50+ psi in the tires 😉

After you removed the blackboost intakes in more recent videos- what did you go back to for replacing the OEM “fabric” intake tubes- I had Eurocharged complete my plug service, at 62k and the one fabric tube (left side) practically disintegrated upon reinstall

Hmmmm tuned and with the BB only about a second increase.. looks like AMG do a great job from factory

I get a “ component fault- turbo charger 1 boost pressure too high” i have recently installed a black boost intake, could that be from the impositioned sensor ? Or is there actually something wrong. Im so confused and idk if there’s actually something wrong.
