Spiraea Candy Corn Update

Three seasons of color? What a treat! The DOUBLE PLAY® series of Spirea are bred for beautiful flowers as well as foliage. DOUBLE PLAY® CANDY CORN® does just that! Standing 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 foot tall, CANDY CORN® goes through seasonal color transformation. In spring the scarlet red foliage emerges, as the spring goes on the older foliage fades to a bright yellow color, but while all this is going on the new growth brings in an orangy-red color for additional interest.

Looks nice and may try some if locally available. Bought a dozen Golden Elf Spirea many years ago and has been best low hedge plant I have ever owned. My fav plant ever!

Very nice. Is that a lilac in the background? If so, what variety?

Can these be pruned for shape in spring while in leaf? And will they flush out new foliage?

I had some nice spireas. They were growing bigger then I had thought so I trimmed all 3 into a nice ball, Then all of a sudden couple months later they started drying and dying on me. Sad!
