TORRENTIAL RAINS IN JAPAN AS TYPHOON LASHES KUMEJIMA ISLAND

Looking at Japan now, heavy rains and strong winds are lashing the Kumejima Island as Typhoon Maysak sweeps Southern Japan and heads towards South Korea. Maysak was reportedly packing sustained winds of 195 km an hour. As a result of the storm rapidly intensifying and deepening, 238 flights in the Okinawa region have been cancelled with a total of 266 already grounded. Naha Airport in Okinawa has been closed since late yesterday.
