UK, EU fail to clinch Brexit deal

EU-영국, 브렉시트 협상 '돌파구' 못 찾아
British Prime Minister Theresa May and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker have failed to reach an agreement to open negotiations on post-Brexit free trade with the EU.
The talks are said to have broken down after a tentative deal with Dublin to keep EU rules in Northern Ireland angered May's allies in Belfast.
The Democratic Unionist Party currently provides May's Conservative Party with a working majority in the House of Commons.
The DUP says it will not accept any Brexit deal that separates Northern Ireland from the rest of the UK.
The prime minister, however, said the Irish border issue was not the only reason for talks stalling, without providing details.
Despite the meeting producing no results, May said it was "constructive," adding that talks would reconvene before the end of the week.
