Scott did nothing wrong. The Phoenix 5 achieved utopia and it was only the Avengers', mostly Tony's, arrogance that ruined it and caused Scott to go "dark." Xavier should have believed in his student and not betrayed him for the arrogant fear brought on by the Avengers and their leadership.
