How to Make A Moonshine Still - Time-Lapse

Copper stills also have a storied history in the United States. The phrase "moonshine still" doesn't refer to what the stills are meant to distill. It's actually just the term used to describe a small copper still. And these types of stills are actually multi-purpose - they can be used to distill water, essential oils, fuel alcohol, spirits, and yes, with the proper permits and safety precautions, moonshine.

The actual real-time process only took me about 2.5 hours. If you're experienced metal-worker, expect to finish in about the same amount of time (if not less!). If you've never built anything like this, it's very doable but will likely take longer.

Note: distilling alcohol is illegal without a federal fuel alcohol or distilled spirit plant permit as well as relevant state permits. Our distillation equipment is designed for legal uses only and the information in this video is for educational purposes only.

I would like to point out your air filters are color coded p100's, (particulate 99.9%, ) and not for chemical fumes like solder smoke. Awesome video, thank you.

Great video. Although I can't help but notice it strange that your company is called clawhammer and most of your music features 3 finger "Scruggs style" banjo. (How is that for nitpicking? No pun intended). Seriously though... this makes me want to buy some copper sheets and some lead free solder. Although I am sure I will change my mind when I price out the copper sheets.

I don't think tig would work on copper. Maybe if you're building a stainless steel pot then you can tig that but copper is too soft
