I think it was a bad decision to strip the paint off the metal housing, they were painted with very high quality professional way.
I also notice that the paints in perfect shape so what you've done is uneccesary and waste of lot of money and time. Let me
congratulate you for being carefree or being genius... whichever it still give you the satisfaction in completing your video.

Does the paint stripper not damage the bearings in the tonearm gimble thing??

Sandblasting Aluminum will damage the metal! But you are right they now blast with baking soda and this is a save way for any blasting we stopped Sand Blasting steel also for the heat caused by the Sand was causing Damage, But I do agree with you he would have saved more time and money just renting a blaster lol.

Just my two cents - I use a chemical stripping place for this stuff. It costs peanuts, doesn't harm the alloy, the chemicals are disposed of properly and it's a one day turnaround.
