How to Miter Metal Trims! BEST Way I Know! #shorts

Looks nice and clean, , we been using this method on vinyl and metal for many years. Especially on J-Channel around windows etc.

I made a test square 6"x3", and it worked great! I did 5 3x3 windows.

You should note which way to run these miters and the tab that gets bent back into the j in a way that’s more conducive to water exfiltration. Good vid. Good tip on cropping that miter point to clamp down on the other j.

And regardless of how good you are you still see that corner. I did this for a fair amount of time and while it may look pretty good it just doesn't look good. Some are definitely better than others, but I truthfully hated working with vinyl or metal. 😢😢

I work with 22 ga metal most of the time, 24 ga feels like paper and it’s easy do those miters cleanly
