Lifelike Animatronic Grogu Puppet at Comic-Con 2022!

The highlight of Comic-Con 2022 so far is this fully animatronic Grogu from EFX Collectibles, designed by the engineers and artists at Garner Holt Productions. We get up close with this incredible animated puppet, which uses 15 servos to recreate all of the character's joyful expressions seen in The Mandalorian. Star Wars fans at San Diego Comic-Con have to check this out!

A very well done "minimal" version for display purposes... Has enough animatronics to look really good without being a VERY expensive piece of equipment to have on display with such open access... I love where they showed the more complex variant that has more functionality. Reminds me of an animatronic project or two I did several years ago for someone using a ventriloquist dummy. Nice work!

I’ve got a story for you regarding the prequels:
So my dad was the manager of the local JCPenny’s and JCPenny’s partnered with Lucasfilm to promote the Prequels (or at least Episode I). One of the ways that they promoted Episode I was to put a life-size statue of Anakin Skywalker, in his podracing outfit, in various JCPenny stores, one of which was the one my dad was the manager of. After the promotional period ended, he was most likely told to just throw it away, but growing up with the Original Trilogy and knowing how popular they were with his generation, he decided not to throw it away and instead brought it home. The statue then spent several years in our garage until my mom became a paraprofessional at a local school, which resulted in Anakin going on display in the school’s library. When she became a teacher at another school, Anakin went with her to that school’s library, who’s librarian just so happens to be a huge Star Wars fan, so Anakin has now found a new home.
