Bocchi's world is terrifying. Friends you've made mere minutes before betray and despise you the next. The first reaction of most people is to jeer at you, and it's a wonder why you even try at all.

Well, thank goodness that it's all a dream. And Bocchi, it's time to wake up. I promise it'll be okay.

Loved this video. Hitoribocchi has been one of the most impactful shows this season and it's already one of my favorite comedies. A few years ago I did some research about the science of sleep paralysis and how the physical impairments of sleep turn into delusions born from dreams. (One of those is the feeling of suffocation like you mentioned - our bodies breathe a lot slower when asleep, so when you can't control your breathing, the only rational explanation to our imaginations is a demon on the chest)
Sleep paralysis is a really good description of anxiety, as someone who doesn't suffer from it. From my experiences with sleep paralysis, it is frightening being unable to fully control your body and expect the worst. The best way in my opinion to combat sleep paralysis (and maybe anxiety too) is to formally recognize what you're experiencing and to focus on the reality at hand. To wake my body up from sleep paralysis - I convince my body to wake up by focusing in on my hand and willing it to clench to a fist.

It's all well and good, but I still can't get over the fact that Bocchi does what she does to appease her trash-tier waste of a "friend". I was willing to let it slide as just weird framing device in ep1, but oohh boyyy, not in ep 7.

As far as I'm concerned - there are two types of satisfactory endings to that arc in particular:

1). Nako slaps the everloving shit out of Kai for hurting her friend for no good reason.
2). Bocchi grows up enough to cut off Kai out of her life herself.

Cuz with friends like Kai who need enemies.
