Tons of Gear from Uncle Bushcraft - See what's inside!

In this episode I take a first look at the contents of two backpacks gifted to me from Uncle Bushcraft. I was pleasantly surprised by what was inside.

The orange things in the Stanley cup are hot lips to protect your lips when drinking hot liquids from metal cups. Great items to have!

I have that same leather pouch that encompasses a lighter. To have that as a gathering tinder, ect. is awesome! I have a very similar pack but it doesn't have the flap over the front and is green in color. All other aspects and the frame are the same. I replaced the hip belt w/a military molle belt. Thanks for sharing

I had a container of life boat matches like that in the mid eighties and they worked pretty well.

It's funny how we go back to old school. I've gone back to a coffee bean sack and a length of rope for shoulder straps.

I think the thing you said was a sharpening stone and hacksaw blade was actually a magnesium fire starter, and the saw is used to shave the block and spark the little Ferro rod.

Also, if you don't mind me suggesting, instead of selling the stuff you don't keep, why not pay it forward to some younger guy who would really appreciate it? As a Christian, I don't really believe in "karma" but I do believe in sharing and paying it forward, and reaping what you sow kinda thing...

It might also be pretty cool seeing a video with you using only the stuff he's given you. There was some sweet stuff in there! Congrats! 👍
