Wraps ar expensive and labor intensive -- while insulation is important year round : from star of brooding in cold spring to warm build up and hot summer and cold fall and freezing winter. WHY not permanently insulate your 10-frame standard LS deep inside you will notice that all of a sudden a 8-frame overwinter is sufficient because insulated colonies need less honey to overwinter! that's the Eureka moment -- your wraps are a waste of money and time :(
