Foo Fighters was founded by frontman David Grohl, whose initial claim to fame was as drummer for legendary ‘90s grunge band Nirvana. While their early output was closer in flavour to Nirvana, over their career they have greatly evolved and expanded their sound to one with more mainstream appeal. With anthemic choruses and simple, catchy guitar hooks, Grohl manages to keep churning out hit record after hit record with no sign of slowing down. The sudden and tragic loss of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022 put the future of Foo Fighters in serious doubt.
