3:14 is especially hilarious to me because Jens is the lead designer of Minecraft, so it’s like basically like asking a world ruler “don’t you wish you could lead a country?!” The way Jeb looks at him afterwards is just incredible, too.

This update is really good so now we cant be upset when we dont get like 90% of the features like what happened during 1.19.

Honestly, the way they were talking about this update being about "expression" and "the players telling their own story" sounds very similar to the language they used to talk about archaeology and customizing the pots with the fragments, so I wouldn't be surprised if archaeology was involved

That archeology one really hit me. I was waiting for it when they said "storytelling". Then Ulraf came on, who has always been very excited about archeology from its initial reveal, who then said it's something that's close to him. And then.... CAMELS.
That being said, this update to me kinda feels like it's gonna be a "these are things that would just make sense if they were added into the game and probably should have been a long time ago". Bamboowood makes sense seeing as we have bamboo, new wood means new boat(/raft i guess) (and chest, signs ...) sure, hanging signs make sense if you already have signs in the game, books that are storeable in bookshelves should've been in the game for a looong time (I remember clipping a minecart chest through bookshelves with some stair trick to give the illusion of storing books in them). Only outlier here is the camel I suppose, but a horse that 2 people can ride just makes perfect sense and I thought was a shame you couldn't do when they initially implemented horses, so it does fit in in a roundabout way.

Archeology seems like a pretty big thing to add, maybe the reason why they didn't add much is because there maintaining their focus on that.

It seems the idea of it being a archeology update is logical. Bookcases to store your finds. An ancient mob. The camel kinda makes me think of stereotypical Egypt archeology. Bamboo blocks make for structures from a far away land (compared to Stockholm). It would make sense I think

I feel like people are basically impossible to please nowadays. Last year people were angry because they promised to much, now they’re upset because they promised to little. They showed that to us minimum things because they didn’t want to make the same mistake as last and year and only announced what is CONFIRMED to be added in the next update. They’ve already said they’re gonna announce more stuff they’re gonna add in 1.20 down the line.
