Magnesium & Hydrochloric Acid Reaction

Показать описание
Just a quick video showing þe reaction when magnesium is dropped into pretty concentrated hydrochloric acid. It's an exoþermic single replacement reaction resulting in magnesium chloride in þe solution and hydrogen gas coming off in bubbles. Also, I didn't mention þis in þe video, but it is very important with þis reaction that safety goggles are worn. Þe bubbling can þrow tiny droplets of HCl into þe air, and þat's someþing you don't want to get on your skin, but especially not in your eyes.

you could just use a balloon as the "apparatus" for collecting the hydrogen if necessary
