DIY: How To Easily Install Contact Paper

Installing contact paper on a shelf seems pretty simple? It's just a big sticker right?

Well, my first attempt at installing this sticky liner was a mess. It stuck to itself and didn't line up properly and I ended up rolling it into a ball and throwing it away!

In this video, I will show you my technique for easily applying contact paper to a shelf, without the frustration.

Great advice. Contact paper is a great way to customize a laptop lid. It does require some patience and detail to look neat. But it beats the 30 plus dollars to order one. And Contact makes a paper that is removable in case you change your mind or your mood.

Supposed to overlap edges by 3/8 to account for shrinkage.

If anyone hasn't suggested yet, after cleaning, lightly spray surface with windex (or other brand) before you apply contact paper.. It will make application easier, also allowing you to move to the right position without unsticking.
