To simplify this, the last format had a minimum of 6 games. Celtic almost always got dumped out the group at that point. The new format has a minimum of 8, and they only need to finish 24th to get at least another two games to salvage a decent UCL campaign. It’ll take a horrendous string of performances for them to finish in the lower third of the table, especially given the teams they’re playing.

The single leg draws does help Celtic as big guns dont have the luxury of fixing a bad result but this new format still depends on the difficulty of thr draw

This new format certainly helps the small clubs like Celtic. Celtic need hope for another piss easy run the the final like they had in 1967 when they played a bunch of nobodies to get to the final.
