I think the new battle drill for US and NATO armor is to spread thin flank wise to 1000 meters for a 4 tank platoon with drone coverage. With coordination with artillery and integral mortar assets for just pure armor movement. With infantry attached would be the same assets but mech infantry spread much wider if an open terrain if the Area of Operation is not mined. Under old Soviet Doctrine all defensive positions will be mined, observed, and covered with artillery and interlocking fire from defensive positions. Thus meaning the Ukrainians are almost rewriting how to breach and advance through a Soviet style mine field in combat to how they were also trained in a defensive posture.
