Young the Giant deserves more recognition for their work.

To me, this video represents someone who is avoiding their responsibilities - 'I'm just doing what I wanna' as he eats ice cream, relaxes on the beach, but it's all spoiled from the cloud of what looms over him. He tries running, but it catches up to him, and he's forced to face them head on - literally taking them on, and through doing this he's able to find happiness again.

This song describes perfectly this year for me, it's like I've wasted all this time waiting for something to happen, not really doing anything to make it happen but running away, because it seems like everything is against. This running away from responsabilities, duties, experiences and people may lead to the point that we don't understand who we are and we lose touch with our reality and everything seems stranger and unsatysfing. Sometimes we wish we could run from ourseves too. We keep on living like this, saying that we are just doing what we want because it's easier, but it's a lie, sometimes we don't really know what we are doing or simply what we have to do, we are just waiting for the time to pass. For people like me who feel this way, it seems like this period of daze is endless like an everlasting summer, where everything is more difficult to face.

What I love about this band is the fact that they are so simple and relatable, but their music is so effective and interesting, it speaks to the everyday people like few other artists. It's such a beautiful and chill song, I really love this band. They really give hope, but also, there is something in their songs that makes you relaxed and, at the same time, it helps you to let out strong emotions, cause they are part of us and our growing process, like (emotionally) calm or strong moments are part of their songs.

This actually shows what being on acid is like. That uncomfortable you can’t quite alleviate. Some feeling of wet you can’t escape. Disheveled and ultimately lost. Looking at experience like it’s fantastic, even while you’re lost in that place where the mundane is fantastic.
