I have the 8 Plus. It's still stable and smooth but lots of hiccups. Performance is a bit inconsistent, sometimes it's fast, sometimes it takes 3 seconds to launch an app. Lock Screen customisation is a bit glitchy. The real issue is the battery drain which I think is usual for first versions. I hope Apple addresses these issues

I’ll wait until the iOS 16.2 come out that way It will be more stable less buggy and more secure for my 13 pro max.

Just because you can doesn’t always mean you should. I’ll wait a bit before upgrading my iPhone 8 Plus. In the meantime, there seems to be a updated iOS 15 with a new security patch. I’m downloading that one right now.

General rule of thumb: wait a little bit - maybe first stability update - before switching. For now, seems like the headaches aren’t worth the upgrade for those still rocking the iPhone 8.

Same as mine. Wait it for few week untill apple release another update for ios 16. Ios 15.6 have been great for me.

I’ve got an iPhone X and the same is true for me. On the early betas it was god awful, now it’s just inconsistent. Certain areas are very fluid and snappy, and other areas are just plain laggy and slow. Apps close more often now too.

I still have ios 13 on my iphone 8 plus and been super nervous to update it. Tons of apps on my phone don't work anymore because they require ios 14 and ios 14 is no longer available LOL....Also Just updated my Mac to monterey and that took all day with many errors but finally works fine.
