Dude, the kick drum sound is unbearable!

You have a nicely treated room, your cymbals do a great job. What you need is a better effect line or mic placement. Could you please describe how exactly you place your kick drum microphone and what you do with your kick drum signal (and with your snare/tom signals, too, for that matter)?

I will try my best to give you valuable advice that will kick up your sound two notches!
