Dave pretends EVERYTHING is just fine, while he raises HIS rents. Pathetic.

My grandfather bought the house i grew up in for $5000. He made $5000/year. He worked for grumman. Made just over median income. To have the same quality of life today, median income here in ny would need to be 400k/year. Its not inflation when inflation is 15× but cost of living is 100k. Its greed and corruption.

Dave is part of the problem. Old investors want to thrive off the backs of those just starting. Old investors are too greedy to see the math isn't connecting. This system is broken and Dave Ramsey wants to keep this system intact.

A lot of these older people don’t realize how fucked the system is right now. It’s crazy

My old boss, type that said kids these days just don’t want to work. One day brags that he bought a house for 8k when he was 25 and sold it for 600k

Our “system” isn’t set up for every person to succeed. What Dave is saying is that unless you are a doctor or lawyer you don’t deserve nice things 🙄 what a Dave thing to say!

90% has been caused by federal spending devaluation of the dollar and institutional investors. I can’t believe how expensive things are today.

My parents built their house on 2 acres, it's a 6, 000 square foot house for less than $300, 000 in 1997 it's worth a million dollars today... You can't tell me buying a house is an achievable goal in this economy.

My brother bought a house for $500k 8 years ago and now zillow says it’s worth $3.5 million 😳

(Weird comments. He has 3 acres on shoreline property, his land is valuable)

Remember when Ramsey said "I don't believe in stimulus checks, because if $600 or $1, 400 changes your life you were pretty much screwed already"

Boomers had life on easy mode growing up

Boomers acting like inflation and stagnant wages aren't a thing. I love using a story about High-schoolers graduating and going to work for Kodak in the 80's and being able to afford 2 and 3 houses before their 30's because they were being paid fair wages even at entry level.

If that company still existed now like it did back then, you'd be lucky to get 13/hr at entry...you can barely afford food for the month

The problem is not about how much a dancer or a barista makes. It's the fact that the dancer and barista probably has a STEM degree.

Ramsey is getting more and more out of touch every year. His advice is basically now to be rich as step one. Welp ...

My good friend growing up bought at house at 20 years old in Oakland, CA (the SF BAY AREA) WORKING AS A BARISTA at Starbucks!!! With no help from her parents! The purchase price was around $220k. This was around 2003. He is SO WRONG!!! Times have completely changed.

Despite being conservative I absolutely hate Boomer logic about cost of living and wealth building in our current day and age. They have no fucking clue.

Dude I'm on board with a lot you say (GenX 1966 here) but my first home was 108k in 2003 and will be paid off by August 2024. My other home will be paid off (180k) in the next 6 years. Health care/medical professions are recession proof, pay well and a lot of hospitals will pay off student loan debt if YOU CHOOSE WISELY. It can be done. Also find an area where property and taxes are lower.

I sold my home I inherited from my dad (I put a bunch of $ into, though)... It is 850 sq feet, just a TINY starter home, no air conditioning, OLD furnace, two tiny bedrooms, no finished basement, yard not fenced in... Sold in 2021 for a lot. A family of 5 bought it! It is RIGHT on the freeway, too. I couldn't believe the market THEN! I can ONLY imagine now how BAD it must be. There is NO WAY a young person can afford a home at this point 😢 it was selling in the 90's for like $40K.
It was a tight fit for myself, my 3 rescue dogs, and a foster dog or two. I can't imagine 3 kids and 2 adults! 😮

Dave Ramsey gives absolutely excellent advice if I was living in the past. It's almost like the dude came out of a time machine. His advice is so immaculately spot on if this was 40 years ago.
