The way business is run today is not the way it has always been done. We need to return to capitalism that advances a purpose, protects people, AND makes a profit.

Finally, good criticism of modern Capitalism that doesn't just turn to another "burn it down" solution.

Many of us echo your message, but you’re a true visionary. You are appreciated

One of my "mentors?" idolized Jack Welch. Under his "leadership" we went through two brutal mergers and massive damaging a generation of dedicated employees.

2020 was a difficult year of soul searching and re-examining all beliefs and assumptions. As someone who has profited greatly from US capitalism and enjoys a great deal of class privilege, it was gut-wrenching to see and acknowledge that our system has failed. I don't even want to live in the US anymore. I give up. I've sold both of my homes and I am actively making plans to move to my favorite country in Europe with its Golden Visa program. My soul needs to live someplace with better protection for citizens. In the meantime, I plan to do slow travel in the Caribbean while relocation plans come together.

The problem is that there aren't enough people like Simon Sinek in the world with power.

I am so glad that I stumbled on and watched your video on how "Our Capitalist System is Broken". It is very important that this message reach as many people as possible so that real change can happen. What really resonated with me was when you stated: "Anyone who critisizes our current form of capitalism is immediately labeled a socialist." This has happened to me more times than I would like to admit when I am involed in a conversation centered on politics or economics. Just because someone is critical of our very broken system of capitalism and hopeful for something that might be more equal, just, ethical and environmentally/socially healthy does not mean that person automatically should be labeled a socialist. What is amusing to me is when someone calls me or labels me a socialist I immediately ask them "What is your definition of a socialist?" or "What does socialism mean to you?" The respoonses are usually equally amusing.

Thanks for saying this, Simon. I think a lot of us feel this way, but it's important for people like you in positions of influence to say it.

1:53: "And anybody who speaks out against the form of capitalism we have is accused of being a socialist these days." Sad, but true. 😔

What a great message! Simon, if it is not asking too much, could you ask your team to add subtitles in different languages in your videos? I know it will be a bit of work, but your message deserves to be sent to non-English speakers. For instance, I would love to send this video to some friends and family who don't speak English. Many thanks!

"Make profit, absolutely profit is essential.
The purpose of companies if to offer value, and value means that you're producing something made my life better."

This sooo good. Criticizing and fixing the system of capitalism has become such a taboo. People want you to either hate and destroy the capitalist system or believe all inequality and damage done to nature is justified because it's the rule of the jungle and some people just deserve to make billion while others starve. We need to fix capitalism and return faith into systems that were intended to serve & protect us.

I completely agree! But what can we do to stop that?

Best, and most unifying message on this financial topic, and I only define it that way, because I don't know how else to. It spotlights so much, so this is just pure gold.

Thank you for this. You just reinforced what I have been saying to my capitalist friends for years that the 3 P’s have to be in harmony to be effective. People first! Product second and profit comes last? Shareholder value isn’t relevant as it is just legalized gambling for the elites and the rich???

Super good evaluation. Relevant. As a long time Project Manager / Analyst, I've always held the belief that when people open with claims of "the process isn't working, we need a new one", Or "the system is flawed", I made sure to peel that Onion a little deeper: PEOPLE . . . can ensure the best system in the World fails. Either unknowingly, or worst case knowingly.

"The System" might be perfectly viable, unless People have twisted it into a form that's a problem.
