I think these type of videos (which are becoming more + more popular) show the importance of really using a product before coming to a conclusion about it. I have a real issue with YouTubers raving about a product and then we never hear them talk about it again because it probably wasn't that great in the first place as they've moved on to something else!

I think this video is a cautionary tale, About how important it is to give our cosmetic purchases a really good try before getting rid of them, or writing them off.


The first time I tried the tartlette in bloom palette I just was not impressed, and couldn’t figure out what everybody else loved about it, however, I work on a palette a week, when I dedicated a whole week on just that palette I realized how much I really liked it! Sometimes it’s just a learning curve.

I’m not sure what’s different about the way you did your eye makeup (maybe it’s just the choice of lashes), but whatever it is, it elongated your eye shape. This is so so flattering on you, absolutely gorgeous!!! Love it!!!

Great video idea! Funny enough, that Physicians Formula highlighter is also something I used to not like but now I do. I didn't understand how to use it and so I tossed it in the back of my makeup drawer until I saw Stephanie Nicole give it a positive review, so then I had to revisit it. I agree, it can either look natural with one swipe or you can build it up for a beautiful gleam

The No7 airbrush away primer...I’ve strayed from my Becca and Laura Mercier, and I reach for this one consistently. Didn’t hate it when I first got it, I just never really reached for it... it’s crazy good.

I wonder how many bad batches of makeup products get released. I can’t imagine actually buying a foundation that had not worked for me, so it’s lucky you can give it another go through Octoly. This is an interesting video angle!

I have been going back to a lot of products I really did not like. While A few years ago I thought I knew a lot about makeup and now I realize not so much. I trashed and gave away some amazing stuff.

Gosh, I keep trying to love this Becca foundation because it's the most perfect shade match I've ever found (Shell, beautiful yellow-olive around NC10)- but just can't. I have combo skin and love matte finish but it looks like crap on my face no matter what I do. I tested 3 different samples over the past few months and it performs exactly the same.

I think hautelook sometimes do sell old/ defective products. I got a Becca concealer from there as well and it was unusable, very think and chunky and didn't come out through the brush!

Cut the ball off the wand...great idea. I threw my Brow Drama out because I didn’t like the wand.
