A review of my complete Bikepacking bag set up on my Specialized Diverge featuring the following bags :

Topeak Backloader 10L - Topeak Midloader 4.5L - Topeak Fast Fuel Tribag 0.6L Topeak Frontloader 8L
Ortlieb Fork Bags 4.1L

The Backloader is a bag I have used for many years now, it’s as good now in condition as to when it was purchased, it’s been through some horrendous weather conditions over many 1000,s of miles no fraying, straps buckles all still first class, and the waterproof inner bag (10,000 mm) still completely waterproof.

The other bags are additional as to spread my load on this particular bike taking advantage of the threaded mounting points on the forks by using the Ortlieb Fork Plus Bags, via a QLS system (Quick Lock System) perfect size bag at 4.1L to enable you to still have some flexibility without the fear of overloading.

There are lots of manufacturers in the market place now for Bikepacking bags, a few years back that was not such the case, the popularity in gravel/Adventure Road bikes has transformed the market place and manufacturers have responded... that can only be a good thing and enables us all to have a greater choice & value for money.

For me personally having previously had the Topeak Backloader I decided to stay with Topeak for the majority of my bags given my continued usage of the item and it’s continued quality.

It’s worth mentioning “Lomo” or Lomo Watersports however, of whom I have purchased other items from who also have a Bikepacking bag set .. which are something of a bargain if you are on a budget 😀🚴🚴 Safe Cycling out there & enjoy your adventures.

I thought you were well on a Topeak sponsorship and then you shot me down 2:45 in! (Even with a different company’s product on the forks) Good to see an honest review of products and not a YouTuber pushing a product they’ve been paid for. Excellent review.

Hello, great video. Does the backloader sway when you stand up and pedal. Thanks.

Hello. Great video and bike! Please tell me a comfortable landing? Does the neck and back hurt? Comfortable riding it for short and long distances?

Great reviews, thanks a lot! I just bought myself the same Diverge Comp E5 (even the same color ;D ) and will definitely use your reviews for the bikepacking setup.
Another question, however, as I'm new in the Gravel world: do you use any mudguards? I'm planning to use my bike not only for tours but also for daily use when I go to the city center or so, would you have any recommendations? I wouldn't like to come to the cinema with my back full of mud for example :)
Thanks a lot again for all your great reviews! Greetings from Switzerland

Did you mount the Ortlieb Fork packs with 2 bolts? I've my eyes on a Diverge, but the 2 bolts seem to be incompatible with most fork cages.

Hello, nice clean set up. Is this aimed for summer wild camps? Even with my lightweight gear I need a much bigger capacity than yours shown. For my winter setup with Rab 900 down bag almost fills my Topeak backloaded. Nice informative video mate.

Hey did you put see through tape? For the areas where all the straps attach, as it can rub the frame.
