Flare Line speedflying review

Line speedwing from Flare is quite different from any regular speedflying wings. It gives you a lot of opportunities to play with the terrain in different conditions but also requires additional skills and some relearning process for your muscle memory. You can't just take the same size as your classical speedwing and feel comfortable. let us know in the comments if you have any questions about wings or speedflying in general. Fly safe!

Great review!! The advantages of the line really start shining through when going for pure proximity flying.
And I totally agree about the community flare has built, they did a really great job on that and it's great to see our community grow!

I can't talk about smaller sizes under 9m with higher wing load, as i only flew the 10m, but once you get to know exactly how deep you can brake at take off (took me several weeks 🙃), you will take of much easier.
At the beginning I struggled taking of if conditions were not ideal, like with slight tailwind or flat take of, thinking my hands were alredy low, but in reality i could go much deeper, and since i recognized this, taking off with an 11m line became as easy as with a normal 11m speed wing for me.
Even on very flat terrain where i struggled the first weeks taking off, it became super easy after i figured it out

Loved it!
Good thing to note is that Flare has the Brand Advocate and Pro Partners as a filter so that the pilots can buy the right size for their skills (and giving 1 on 1 coaching/demo) and avoiding this scenario in which a pilot would just buy same size as their classic speedwing or even worse downsize into a Line smaller than their regular speedy…

Thanks for the review, really enjoyed it!

Great video! However, coming from a classical speedwing it takes time to get used to the completely different inputs required. I'd say (from personal experience) you start really understanding the LINE after about 50 flights. Once there, take-offs are a lot easier, safer, and possible in terrain where you would not be able to launch a classical speedwing, landings can be stopped in very tight spaces, and the overall unagile feeling of the wing completely disappears.

So whoever reads this: If you just flew a LINE for the very first time and got the feeling, that it's insanely fast but hard to launch, land, and maneuver rapidly - this feeling is normal in the beginning and will completely go away, once you invest more time.

Of course its hard to take off and land when your hands are at the wrong spot. I can easily see you never pull the brake line (trailing edge) during take off and landing... watch the flare nation academy videos to see where your hands below on take off. This problem is the same with all parakites, no matter which brand you fly...you can take off in half the distance when well done. Same for landing.
