Dear PBJ:

Every time I check in on your channel I'm glad I subscribed. I've been to Philly only once, in 1963, when I was serving the US Army as a Courier Guard. The officer I was escorting was a native of Philly and after we had delivered our documents, he took me out to quite an elegant restaurant, and bought me dinner, he could have gotten in big trouble for fraternizing with an enlisted NCO, but he did;t seem to care. He ordered for us what was called in that restaurant, a "Chicken Lobster Dinner", it was delicious, I've never seen a larger lobster before or since, and I'm glad I wasn't paying because the tip would have been about half of my months pay back then. I have to say though, the Philly Cheesesteaks bought from a street vendor, were more to my taste, very delicious, and considerably less expensive, I'm glad I found a recipe and method for making my own authentic Philly Cheesesteak. Here in CA where I live, some markets cater to the Mexican Clientele, among the products are very thinly sliced chuck steaks intended to be used for making Carne Asada, I think I will use these as the basis for my Cheesesteak. By the way, I enjoyed Philly, even though it is a city, I liked the variety of ethnic neighborhoods, Italian, Polish, German, Black and so on. I live isolated in the timber here on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the nearest grocery store of any consequence is 30 miles away and 3, 000 feet lower in elevation, quite different here than in Philly, I love it here, it is home, and I'm a native, but I have fond memories of my visit to the City of Brotherly Love.

Tomorrow, I have to go to the Grocery Store to prepare for Thanksgiving, I'm going to make sure I also get what I need for Cheesesteak Sandwiches. Keep those good recipes coming.

May God Bless You and Yours

Damn that looks good! Hard to find a good Philly cheese steak on the island. Mahalos for sharing bra. Wife loves the Philly cheese steak. Making this for dinner tonight.

I never understand why people send all the hate messages...He's not a professional chef, like 99% of us, he's a back yard cook...and by the looks of it, a damn good one! If you haters know so much more and want to pick it apart, then put on your own show and see how well it turns out for you! Everyone wants to be a critic, but no one wants to show their expertise. Keep it up Pbj!

Thank you. I’m in Cali now, but have a good Philly Cheesesteak or a real Italian Hoagie two or three times a year for each. Will have to get back to the East Coast (NYC) for a decent slice of Pizza. I always come back to your post when I make the Philly Cheesesteak, which I’ve made tonight. Thank you Brother for keeping it real. I always use provolone cheese. ❤️

How do YOU locate lettuce, tomatoes, and crushed pickled peppers if you happen to add them? On the bun directly or, on the surface/ top at the very end..??? Sorry I sound a bit silly. Thanks. 😋
