Love the ASMR edit? No music, hearing you fiddle with the kit was VERY satisfying!!!

Is there any painting involved? I suppose not, just weathering. Also, when I am working with small parts I lay a thick white towel down on my work table. It usually stops the parts from falling to the floor. I also wear an apron that I hook to bench. That way the small parts can be easily found. I started using this method years ago when I worked in 1/87 scale.

That is so nicely detailed, that engine is stunning. Looking forward for more 👍

Just found your channel and subscribed. This is an amazing kit and looks like it will be an equally amazing build.

Nice build, well done, I’m 3 kits into it. Appreciate the tips and may do some clean up on the exhaust, need to see when I get there. Someone below mentioned a good tip about lubing the screws, I use bees wax.

Great video and vehicle !. I love putting together these 1/8 models from IXO . I have built so far threeof these models in my country, Argentina, the Citroen 3CV, the IKA Torino 380w and the Volkswagen Beatle. It is possible to improve them a lot by painting some of their parts. I would have painted the exhaust pipes if I was you. Best regards

I purchased a wowstick but sold it a week later. I'm building the IXO Porsche 917 also but the Wowstik did not have enough torque to screw the fasteners in.

AWSOME I was hoping you would build this when I saw the kit on the IXO website after I watched the 205 build. I may have to buy this....

Damn I wasn't expecting to see one of these. Porsche makes some stunning race cars and despite the absurd price of this set it's going to be beautiful when finished. I'm looking forward to this even more than the Peugeot now :)

Seems like a nice quality kit, seeing that ugly parts and mold or mating lines are mostly hidden. I'd love to have this model myself, as the 917 is my all-time favourite car. for me, it's just too pricy, considering they want roundabout 1200€ for it. but I'll gladly follow your build logs :)

Dip the screw in 3 and 1 oil when screwing into metal. It makes it much easier.

Sounds like a decent set of taps would be helpful for chasing internal threads.

Lol, you are hilarious 😂 with the amount of screwing that is not allowed on YouTube! Nice one.
Anyway, I too am impressed by the metal engine and look forward to you explaining the heft of the kit when done.
