I live in a very small city in rural Canada (population just over 11, 000) and we just had a town tree lighting ceremony. Just an hour-long event, maybe 100 people in attendance, and even THAT had an Indigenous land acknowledgement. So pointless. I think most of us Canadians roll our eyes at it. 🙄
