I should think that Joe Gomez, if he reads the social media, will be chuffed at the loyalty, love and high regard that is pouring out of every pore on these forums - we love you mate !
I think the last time I saw such an overwhelming solidarity of opinion was when we were looking at Mason Mount and virtually every comment from the Liverpool fan-base kept mentioning barge-poles. And how right were they on that one ?
I would advise Liverpool FC that their fan base are a pretty knowledgeable lot, and know their footy. So when they say something with such solidarity, I reckon you should listen to them !

Look at the players City sold over the last couple seasons : Sterling, Jesus, Zinchenko, Laporte, Mahrez, Palmer. Cancelo and Phillips were also loaned out. We're here arguing about keeping squad players who couldn't help us challenge at Europa League level and crumbled in the PL. Sure, maybe the new system will help, but at some point you have to make some sacrifices if you want to go to the next level.

The lack of respect for Gomez from our fans is shocking. When he's fit and in a rhythm, there aren't many better defenders than him. Full stop. People see that as a crazy statement because they're all caught up on trendy youngsters like Yoro, Diomande etc. It just shows how clueless a lot of fans are. Because we always choose the shiny new toy, we never appreciate what we already have.

Even with the likes of Sepp VDB. We're talking about a player who was statistically one of the best CB's under 23 in Germany. Yet we'd prefer someone not as good from Sporting Lisbon or something.

30:17 Tsimikas looks much stronger after the break. Maybe it's gonna happen now for him.. maybe he was missing that little bit of muscle to be much more effective.. I am surprised, because I thought he was on his way out last season..

I don't get this obsession with a number 6, if you're playing with a double pivot and a flat back 4, that's saying 7 players aren't good enough to defend the goal area. If that's the case then they're not good enough...

Kelleher IS a number 1 type of keeper. Number 2 goalie should be as solid as.. because their mistakes won't have time to be diluted by their saves.

The liberty that Elliot is given in the pre-season doesn't fully warrant the quality he has yet.. so I wouldn't be so hasty to dismiss Carvalho's chances to challenge Elliot.
