You know how there are a lot of tutorials out there, most of which you learn a little something if you are lucky-- this is not one of those. I have used Photoshop on and off for many years-- since about 1989; and this video has a lot of very useful information, which I had not specifically learned before... equally important, you put it all in usable context and examples.

Try 'Lumenzia' luminosity panel/extension. Less layers used with better results + individual luminosity, color, saturation, ...etc. masks.
Also exposure blending, what you did here + luminosity mask sliders.

That's the leading luminosity panel and leaves no wish open.
