As a Jazz fan, I never wanted to trade Lauri, but if some team were gonna sell the farm to get him, then it could work. I'm glad we kept him. People don't understand that star level talent doesn't want to come to Utah.

I think all the trade rumors were other teams and fans trying to will something into existence, because Lauri is the kind of player that makes any team better. He isn't like Brandon Ingram or Zach Lavine, who there is no market for. He can play next to Steph and Draymond, or next to Wemby. But you have to make it worth our while.

I hear that the Warriors were the closest, and they lowballed. I don't know if they are serious, since they always hold back in every trade, not wanting to give up value to get value, whether it be PG or Lauri.

I think Utah can tank with Lauri, but I think the Tank shouldn't last much longer. Depending on who they get, 1-2 more years max. I hear this next draft is really good, and some say 2026 is also really good. But I think they need to start trying, for the sake of their player's development. Utah has a ton of picks and young guys, so they can make some consolidation trades when they are ready to turn it on.

Jazz has plenty of young prospects, the Jazz will still be in the lottery, if one of the youngsters blossoms this year, then we have lots to trade for another star. We'll see how the season goes, GO JAZZ!

Lauri wanted to stay in Utah. And they obviously still wanted him too. Their two young guards in Collier and George can duke it out for guard assignments and then Cody at the 3, Lauri at the 4, and hopefully Kessler at the 5 if he goes back on the up.

I can't wait too see how good Lauri will be this season. Year ago summer he was in Finnish army wich isn't actually best summer training for basket ball player. This summer he has been able to train on his own terms and I'm eagar to see him play again.

One stat also tells a good story about his versatility: The first player in NBA history with 200+ threes and 100+ dunks in a single season.

And yeah, still room to improve with e.g. passing and defending. Also his physique coach said Lauri has not reached his top fit yet.

The local Utah sports radio thinks that the team is in a horrible situation because they are not fully tanking. Many outsiders think that Utah is doing a good job on the rebuild, but locally it’s the opposite.
