This is a quick presentation of Simon Thorpe's 0-0-0-0.x plan which proposes to abolish the current tax system based on Income Tax, Business Taxes and Sales Taxes and replace the whole lot by a single flat rate financial transaction tax that for most countries would be a fraction of 1%. There is a longer 50 minute presentation for those who want more detail.

Thanks blattmacher - sorry I only just saw your comment.

Yes, we need to get these ideas debated openly. All suggestions very gratefully received.

Yes Simon, it would be one of the greatest leaps forward in development of modern society if this was introduced immediately.

Unfortunately the banks are very powerful, as you say, and I am not convinced that the political ideology that exists in the world at this time would entertain it.

That doesn't mean we don't try. This video must go viral. You have my complete support.

simon, this is a stunning presentation of an approach to stop the ongoing robbery of taxpayers on this globe. a big idea. so the main issue is how to fund this in order to spread it against the lobby that is indeed huge. let's do it!

My proposal would be that the politicians leave the tax mechanism alone, and instead use the money that is raised for doing the politics. If the government wants to support industry, provide subsidies for agriculature, provide child care, or whatever... they can. And if that requires a modest increase in the FTT rate, then they can do that too. Keeping the tax mechanism simple really would make life one hell of a lot simpler.

Thanks for the comment

Politicians like to share tax around so they can play around with the figures for political gain. Introducing this would remove any power a chancellor had to play politics with the people which those in power would never accept.

A land value tax would have better outcomes than a FTT
