Ickle Jeremy Clarkson saw his dad bought a new Ford Cortina 1600E. Is this the best childhood moment anyone could ask for?

Join Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as they travel across the globe on their Grand Tour. Those emotions were for his dad, not the car, of course. Jeremy is a legend...

This is the man who drove from London to Sheffield in an hour in a 928 with 30 minutes to spare to say goodbye to his dad. His dad and the cars he associates with him mean a lot to him.

I love how fondly he talks about his dad, here and the 928 story though he passed away in that one

Jeremy has the perfect voice to narrate documentaries, I am thinking historical in particular.

Fact: Jezza’s dad unfortunately lost his knee caps in a collision in this car. He said so in TG.

Sad though, this is what the trio showed to the world. Cars aren’t just figures and modes of transport, they are fashion statements, they were societal Class showers, but most importantly, they were family

Expected a joke at the end, but no. Sincerity. From Clarkson. Strange world we live in.

I remember back in 2008 (i was only 7 years old) coming home from sports day and my dad picked me up in a brand new 08 plate Audi A4 S Line. I burst into tears for much the same reason as Jeremy describes in this video. Cars really are wonderful things.

Ive watched Jeremy Clarkson throughout all his years on Top Gear and GT, even if he had some controversial moments through his TV career I've never seen someone grow up in such a way as him. Caring for the environment, farming, travelled and well cultured and has two best mates even if they hate eachother aha

I remember when the 1600E came out (about 1968). It was, effectively, a 1600GT with "accoutrements". It looked very graceful and you could turn up _anywhere_ and not be ashamed. It was, sort of, an oversized Radford Mini Cooper. All male teenagers saw the 1600E as a car we could aspire to and have a reasonable chance of attaining. We all wanted Ferraris but, deep down, we knew this was a pipe dream. Not so with the 1600E. It was fast, luxurious elegance and was a realistic proposition.

Hammond's dad didn't have a 1600 E as he was from Birmingham... haha

The year of Jeremy Clarkson: "Nostalgic."
The year of James May: "Nostalgic."

The year of Richard Hammond. "OH FFS!!!"
