That looks like Anna Maria Island. We love our wildlife and have various rescues, birds like pelicans have to be handled in certain ways that are safest for the species, such as the way it's head, neck and beak are supported. Never cut the line and research quickly to find a local rescue they can at the very least instruct you on what you should do. Thank you to the people that cared enough to make sure this pelican continued to live.

Do you know that pelicans are "seasonally monogamous" ? Meaning they pair up at the beginning of the mating season and stay together until the next, where they may or may not select new mates.
