These SAMSUNG Earbuds were kindly sent over to me by Ty. He says that one of them is no longer working after some water damage...

Let's have a look and let's try and fix it!

Hope you enjoy!
Steve

PS. I'm not an expert in repairs at all. I do this for fun, and it may not be the best or safest way to go about repairing broken stuff. I'm pretty good at melting plastic though. Please don't copy me - I'm an idiot.

Stupid Galaxy Samsung Earbud Type Things

I love that you held the repaired earbud up to your ear, found it working and then immediately held it up to your other ear to make sure it would still work on that side of your head.
+10 Thoroughness.

This is one of the most impressive fix videos I've ever watched Steve, bloody good effort!

You have the patience of a saint Steve, I would have chucked that fiddly little thing in the "f__k it bucket" as soon as that connector broke. 👍

Super impressive, that's the first successful repair I've seen on any kind of ear buds, congrats

I'm honestly kind of shocked how repairable those earbuds are. Compared to the Apple version that you can only open destructively, these seem positively easy to open and work on. Just a shame about the lack of schematics and other documentation :)

I admire your willingness to put the thing all the way back together to test it. Years of needing to take stuff back apart 30 more times, means I usually put it back together only as much I need to to test.

Dude - I literally punched the air in victory after you successfully got the connector fixed. This was so good. Love it! I can't believe how small those pieces are.

I think it's awesome how your skills have improved over time. This thing was utterly microscopic and you got it fixed. Outstanding !

Fantastic work as always! I once had to resolder a microscopic coil onto an iphone motherbord, I only had a regular soldering iron tip and no micoscope. Im not sure id ever try it again ;)

You must have the patience of a saint fixing that! It would have been thrown across the room way before that if I was doing it. Great video!

Awesome video! I have a pair that doesn't work, and this has made me want to see if it's an easy fix. You were wondering what to do with them. If you use earbuds, samsung buds have been the best I've ever used.
