⁴ᴷ R179 Subway Cars 3010-3014 Transferred out of East New York Yard

Here we see the very first R179 unit, cars 3010-3014, being transferred out of East New York Yard via the J line. This is exceptionally notable, as 3010-3014 is a 5-car unit. New Tech equipment operating on the J, M, Z, and L lines only use 4-car units; it is exceptionally rare to see a 5-car unit on these lines. Enjoy!

Why do they only use 4 cars and why does the train have 5?

When you realize that this is the first time you see a train running on the middle tracks on the Jamacia Line in god only knows how long

Once a 10 car R179 hits the system it should start on the A line as it had the R32's

My question is when is the IRT Main line getting the 2nd generation of the NTT’s (New Technology Trains) that the IND/BMT And the (7) train have. Even the next Series of trains for the 2020s have not yet had an announcement for New IRT Trains. Since the R142/R142a’s intro in 1999.Only the 7 train has gotten “New”, or better yet refurbished R142a’s into the R188’s. So when can I see a train not from 1990s or early 2000s on the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6
