Things to do in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Welcome everyone to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. What an absolutely beautiful City. It is the one the of nicest Kim and I have ever seen. The downtown, the parks, sidewalks, roadways, etc, etc, etc. were in pristine condition. There were so many restaurants, bars, and shops that it would take weeks to fully experience everything. I know I speak for Kim as well when I say we will definitely be back here again. During our week long stay in the area we stayed at Silverwood RV park which is centrally located between Course Alene and the beautiful City of Sandpoint. We chose to stay in that RV park due to the very good cell service we got as we had to work remote during the week. It is a very well maintained park with fantastic access to Silverwood Theme Park which is located directly across the street. If you have a family and plan to spend a lot of time at the theme park then we highly recommend Silverwood RV Park. When we go back to visit Coeur d'Alene there is no doubt that we will be staying at Farragut State Park. Again I might sound like a broken record here but that State Park is one of the nicest Kim and I have ever seen. There is so much privacy and the lake was unreal. Kim and I hope you enjoyed our brief look at the City of Course dAlene. If you are new to the channel we hope you consider subscribing and following us on another adventure. Safe travels everyone. Until next time.

Coeur d’Alene is a city in northwest Idaho. It’s known for water sports on Lake Coeur d’Alene, plus trails in the Canfield Mountain Natural Area and Coeur d’Alene National Forest. McEuen Park offers a grassy lawn and a trailhead for adjacent Tubbs Hill. The lakeside City Park & Beach includes picnic areas and a playground. The Museum of North Idaho traces regional history, including the city's former timber industry.

Welcome To Coeur d’Alene

The Coeur d’Alene area is surrounded by dozens of lakes left behind by the glaciers from the ice age. There are more than 55 lakes within easy driving distance of Coeur d’Alene, but none more scenic and full of activities than Lake Coeur d’Alene itself.

There is something magical about Lake Coeur d’Alene that’s hard to define, but begins with the spectacular North Idaho sunsets and moonrises, the plunge of an osprey after a fish, the glowing lights of downtown Coeur d’Alene reflecting across its waters at night. The perfect place to plan your next vacation and activities.

For people who don’t know, Coeur d’Alene is quite fun and beautiful place. It is a resort town and is part of the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene Metro area, which encompasses several cities. Each part of the area is unique and offers a wide variety experiences. I speak with visitors on a regular basis. The one thing I consistently hear is that people don’t realize this is a metropolitan area of around 800, 000 people, with Spokane the main city. There is something for just about anyone in the region, from bigger concerts and sporting event and nightlife in Spokane to the ambiance of the resort on the lake. If you get an opportunity the try and explore outside the metro area. There are hidden gems all around that beg to be discovered. From Desert terrain to alpine lakes tucked in the mountains. Great food destination too, there is even a Michelin star chef in the area with cool foody places in almost every corner. Pubs, wineries, distilleries, bakeries, coffee shops etc. worth an extended stay. Most people who do visit almost always plan to visit again. May not be for everyone but most people are surprised at the variety of the region.

I have lived here 18 years. I love boating on Lake Coeur d'Alene. I'll dock the boat and hit the buoy for a cold drink occasionally. Great video.

I live in here in Coeur d'Alene Idaho and it is the best place I've ever lived at. 6:08 That train was my favorite place in Silverwood theme park when I was a kid.

Thanks for posting this. we're visiting CDL in September from Scotland at the end of our trip to Glacier national Park. I was there in 1991 and was really impressed with it, can't wait to go back.

I would probably live there if my Dad who was raised in Spokane hadn't taken a detour to Boston after WW2.

I'm visiting from Moscow for a solo weekend trip and look forward to seeing some beaches and waterfront that is sorely lack in the Palouse (Lewiston's smelly factory riverfront doesn't count lol). I have been before but have to say that we have the better main street and farmer's market. It's still nice in Coeur D'Alene but feels limited for a city of its size.

Thanks for this! I looked up "Coeur d'Alene" as we may visit there this July. We're headed to a music event at the Gorge Amphitheatre. We did this trip/event in 2019 and we nailed the itinerary. From Sacramento to Mt. Shasta. Drove and stayed overnight in Hood River, then on to the Gorge for the weekend event. Then a three-night stay in Gig Harbor, before ending up in Lincoln City for the remainder of the trip before driving back home. Looking to change it up, but my wife really wants to go to the coast! I want to explore CDL for a bit since we're in the area. So, now I am doing my homework!
