Wonder Eye by Little Moon ♡🥀

NOTE: "Little Moon" got jumbled up with "tiny desk" in the brain and accidentally created the name "tiny moon" in the title card (⊙﹏⊙✿ ) please ignore that part of the title card--it was done in loving error. thank you ♡

lyrics:

Count up on fingers all my days to the minute
(hmm hmm)
Time getting shorter now the longer I’m in it
(hmm hmm)

To where we are and where we go
Wonder i
Wonder i

And when I go I’ll give my all
To the sky
To the sky
Wonder i
Wonder i

Is it a tale that we make true in the telling?
(hmm hmm)
Is there a knowledge that is found not in knowing?
(hmm hmm)

To where we are and where we go
Wonder i
Wonder i

And when I go I’ll give my all
To the sky
To the sky
Wonder i
Wonder i

Eye like a circle eye
Eye like a circle eye

To where we are and where we go
Wonder eye
Wonder eye

And when I go I’ll give my all
To the sky
To the sky
Wonder eye
Wonder eye

like a circle eye
like a circle eye
like a circle eye
like a circle eye

I've watched this a lot and just now wondered how the singer can give such a compelling performance in that position. Crazy.

I'm having a very hard time describing how this song makes me feel. Its like reaching out and touching velvet only to find out its a velvet sledgehammer after you've been hit with it.

This presentation is the perfect blend of softness and intensity.

It's rare for artists to come up with something that's unique and stands apart these days, but this group has achieved the memorable.🙏🙏🙏

My husband showed this song to me. I left the Mormon church 2 years ago (my husband is still active) and when I googled you, I read about how you came up with this song when grappling with death of all kinds. Leaving religion has made death (including mourning the death of a past life and belief) much more real and terrifying and fascinating to me and I feel this song encapsulates my feelings perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful message, these amazing talents, this celestial song. It has put me in tears every time I listen to it.

Thank you deeply.

My mom is currently in hospice. Heard this on NPR the other day and absolutely lost it. What a beautiful song. I had to pull over and cry.

Just heard this on WMSE in Milwaukee and was blown away. I had to look up the band right away. Love this song, and I'm an old metal head...go figure! Great music just transcends

Interesting song and arrangement. I feel like these guys randomly bumped into each other at a thrift store and decided to start a band because they liked each other's outfits.

This transcends dream pop. I hesitate to use terms like “next level sh!t” but this is indeed next level sh!t.

I can't believe how good this is. I've watched 100 times. She's a generational talent.

I just learned of Little Moon on my way to work this morning while listening to NPR. After hearing all of the great things that the Tiny Desk contest judges had to say about “Wonder Eye”, I just had to listen to the song for myself. I listened to it over and over until I got to work and was just transcended to another world. Thank you for such a beautiful piece of art Little Moon, you touched my heart. 💜🙏🏼

Congratulations on winning NPR Tiny Desk concert series contest 2023. I was just listening to the news this morning and they did a story on the contest and played Wonder Eye. Stunningly, beautiful music I had tears running down my face I don’t think I’ve ever been so moved hearing a tune for the first time!

This version is so much better than the over-produced single on streaming services. Please consider releasing this version as an alternate.

The way she sings “minute” and “in it…” so much power and strength from the first few notes, it’s insane.

This song wove itself into the very fibers of my being. Now rewatching it for the 1, 000 time to try to figure out the chords!

I've always been afraid of being alone, especially when I started losing friends. I began to notice a perpetual silence in my memory. For the first time, I stopped running and started facing the things I had left unresolved. I sought justice against those who wronged me and started going to therapy. I was so tired of running and not finding meaning in anything. This song reflects a journey full of doubts and the undeniable question I'll ask when all of this is over. Just rest?… No, because the journey never truly ends and will be eternally cyclical. I condemn myself to feel everything until my life stops going in circles of learning.
